That, and typically the people who say stuff like that don't know what "right click" is. Trying to explain things to people over the phone is like teaching a blind man to see. You just cannot do it.

Gotten that one before too from my grandpa. I've heard of a few where the monitor wasn't plugged in.

ive seen a few from customer support logs, stuff like

"can you please tell me where the "Any" key is, i cant find it on my keyboard"

or

Customer: "the cuholder on my computer is broken"
Assistant: "sir, our computers do not come with cuholders, did you buy this after you got the computer?"
Customer: "no, it definetly came with the computer"
Assistant: "could you describe the cupholder?"
Customer: "well, its on the front of the computer, a tray that comes out with a hole in it"

... lol

Thats one of the hardest things for a computer support specialists. You have to be able to picture the problem, and be able to explain how to solve the issue in terms non computer users can understand.

I've gotten my fair share of stupid people with computer problems. I don't remember any off the top of my head. I know once a guys computer froze, but he had yet to power it back on to see if it was working again. I drive all the way down to his house and everything was fine.

I also got questions from that same guy about what I was doing at that moment when working on his computer. This is an old guy with no hope of understanding anything I say. I really hate that and don't like to explain because they don't get it anyway. I could make up something phony and he would probably believe it. "The calibration got messed up and the defrater overheated. I just had to install a new powersink and everything was fine again."

I remember this one from an email that I got,

tech; "Ok, now do you see the window that just popped up?"
customer; "Wow! How can you see my screen from there?"
