Default PS3 converter

I found this, as I was trying to convert a file to Divx to allow to play on the PS3:

http://www.redkawa.com/videoconverters/ps3video9/

Its a free convertor that seems to make the process of putting to PS3 easy. I'm trying it now.

EDIT:

It seems to be converting a file with a Techsmith codec fine, using a 720p setting. Say's it'll take 17 minutes to convert a 1 hour 45 video to the format. I'll copy it over and see in a bit

Cool. Can't the PS3 use any other format? There's a decent amount of quality loss with DivX...

It can use quite a few formats apparently. It's converting the file to a AVC file, which is supposedly playable

I'm trying it again, using a different setting. I may have to do some research into it, seeing as the program seems more complex than at first look.

I just want to view a few 3D tutorials downstairs, rather than having to be at my PC to watch them, but there in some weird formats that the PS3 won't support natively
