well a while back i think thelis posted about hamachi and its very useful actually.

i didnt no it did that, i no that it came with a bf2142 torrent that let u play online with out buyin it but i thought it was a pain in the ass so im just gunna buy bf2142 when i get my new comp

well to be honest very few people use hamachi for playing games they have bought? Why? There aren't that many servers.

And it really doesn't really decrease ping that much, you still need to connect to a server. You could get better pings if the guy who hosts that lan server is closer to you than the internet servers you usually play on. However since usually most home users have a pretty slow internet connection (compared to big hosting companies) if a lot of players come the server will probably start to lag.

So if you own a game it's better just to stick with playing on internet servers instead of trying to find an active hamachi server.
