Pico Projector Question

I know these arent the best brightness, but I would like one so I could watch my iPhone videos and TV shows on the ceiling in my room, which one is best? One is used (but a higher model) and the other one is new. Same price, which one is the best? (these claim 20,000 hour bulbs, so bulb life in a used one is not really an issue)

All pico projectors look awful. If you want a good projector, I suggest going to eBay and looking at refurbished DLP projectors. I got my Dell 1100MP about a year ago for $200, and it still runs amazing.

Look for at least 1000 lumens unless you want tiny picture or a bulb that will burn out quickly.

Links still dead btw, but I googled the model number, to find that it is only 9 lumens. That will give you a picture smaller than a computer monitor if you want it to be clearly visible.

Ah ok, well i do have a full sized one, but to watch one episode of the office, i dont want to power it up for 25mins and put up my screen and then take it down after.

Just point it at the ceiling? I've done it before. It looks bad unless your ceiling is smooth though.

well the way I have it set up, i cant do that, its set up, ceiling mount.

Or you could do what I did for a screen - put up an old wall hanging picture frame and put a blank canvas in it. It looks epic. I do that when I am feeling lazy.

A mirror could also work. Point it somewhat down, at a mirror angled properly, and use the settings to reverse the image.

It's clear that a 10-50 lumen pico projector isn't a replacement for a 2000+ lumen desktop/ceiling unit, but there is definitely a place for a projector that runs off battery, has a built in media player, and fits in your pocket.

The Optoma units mentioned above are 1st-gen units that are much dimmer than their newer products and those from their main competitor AAXA Technologies. If you don't need something super small I recommend checking out the AAXA M1+:
