My buddy showed me this tool which blocks unwanted IP addresses from talking to your computer. It's like that phone blocklist people could apply for. Very handy for P2P and Torrenting. Legally of course :D. It's called PeerGuardian.

It doesn't slow your downloads down at all (at least mine). Now you can torrent in peace. ;)
 
yeah, the only problem with it is that when you have it going, you can't use steam, pg blocks all steam access. I tried unblocking as many of them i could but i still cant get on steam. so pg is on at night when im usually downloading stuff anyway.
 
I'm sure you can make it accept Steam though by right clicking when it tries to access, and say allow, when it blocks it.

i did but it has multiple ip's i guess, because i've blocked about 5 of them and i still cant connect.
 
I have it on when ever I'm not playing my multi-player games only because I don't believe in ghov spying to catch the bad guy.
