I have other interests than computers alone. Celery had guns and games and other stuff. I like boating and fishing. Camping is what i have done for the last 21 years in a rv. We have moved into a stick and brick home after all that time. When on the road over the last 9 years or so, I have been going to model r.r. shows. and had been working on a layout idea. When i moved to Killeen, Texas i had started a 3X5 foot model railroad layout. I am doing a model of a logging camp and sawmill along the lines of some of the camps in West Virginia. It was to small for what i was doing. Now that i have moved into our new home I took one of the bedrooms and turned it into a kind of Man-Cave. Have a big screen tv and cable along with my computer and my desk. I turned the closet into a kinda storage for all the stuff i have collected over the years for the layout and computer. So, I have been working on a update plan for this railroad. I have come up with how to make it bigger without having to rebuild the whole thing. So, i ended up with a 3X8 foot layout and have more room if i need it. The model is 1900's era and uses steam engines of that time. I have some shots of what i have done so far. Its a work in progress as i am about to make one change already. Its a minor one so no big deal. Always a challenge to build something when you are trying to save parts you did right. Shots below. Tell us yours here. Dan:cool:

Glad to see you're back with your hobby Dan. Lots of attention to the details. Nice job.

Why is it so quiet here? Where is everybody?

Just the same ol same ol hey?

By the way, it's the same on other forums. I try to get things hopping like I did here but no one say much.

As I said, same ol same ol. Got a new pain doctor and after months of denials he convinced them that the reason I didn't get much relief was that my old doctors did not hit all my painful joints in my neck. I had to get at least 70% relief to make it worthwhile for them.

Last Wed I got injections in 4 of my neck joints. I got tremendous relief. It is a long term relief. I was hurting really bad for months. It's like torture I wouldn't wish on my enemies.

Yeah, i got all new doctors here on the base. First time i went on base to get the va! Its Sheppard AFB! They have changed two of my meds and cut me back on one. Seems to be working better. I feel much better than i did. I still have my bad days with the back but everything else is doing well. I am still not in as much pain as i was.My hands bug me when it rains around here so can't do much when thats happening. I am getting better at not being lost in this big house! It really has taken awhile to get used to all this room. My shop is for the computer, my workshop and layout. I bought a 43 inch big screen to go with the dvd and 5.1 receiver i had in the trailer. I have a couple of shots of the room so you can see what i mean. I still have the weather station up and running so i can stay pretty busy! Sometimes i just sit back and watch a movie or play games on the computer or ??? The work shop is right beside the desk for the computer. I made a corner out of the two. Works for me!!

In the town you are building I see 6 small gray houses/buildings in a row. What are they supposed to be?

Those are 1 story homes. I still need to make some two story houses. The gray three story building is the hotel.

Have a friend in Salinas CA who is in a model railroad club. They do a couple shows a year around central California and have some really elaborate setups.

Used to have American Flyer trains as a kid. Plasticville was popular then in the 50's.

I've got an RV too. Monaco Class A. Are you on any RV forums?

Good Sam and irv2. I have a small 5th wheel a 30 footer. I also have a weather station that sends data to a couple of sites. We just moved into this house a few months ago. I had Lionel and American flyer. Later I got a ho race car set with a ho train set. Then I had a small layout that was n scale. Fast forward to 2008, my next layout. It was n scale as well. It was nice weather and had the layout outside so I could cut the foam without it being in the trailer. A big gust of wind came up all the sudden and turned that layout into a mangled mess. The current layout I have been working on for about 6 years now. I ran into issues with the size I needed as I didn't have the room needed. Now I am in a house and have the extra room to make it work. Enjoy your hobbies, Dan
