People said stuff, but not as loudly. It wasn't as much of "change for the sake of change" as it is now.

Heck, it wasn't until recently that Obama knew what he wanted in the bill. Every conference he went to he said it was going to include/limit different things. At least he finally settled on something.

P.S. When this passes and we're worse off than before, I voted McCain.

How is it change for the sake of change? Have you seen our health care system? We're already being charged with expensive emergency room visits for diseases that could have been prevented with a cheap and effective doctor's visit. Obviously it may be different for those who have an effective, private insurance plan, but think of those who don't.

(...and here's a hint - they're middle class citizens who have decent paying jobs.)

It may not be a complete summary, but it does cover the events and main issues regarding the bill.

But if you use Spark Notes you'll miss out on all the interesting character development and symbolism! You'll only have interpretations made by other people...

The Affordable Health Care for America Act, or H.R. 3962, restricts insurance companies from denying coverage to anyone with a pre-existing condition or charging higher premiums based on gender or medical history. It also provides federal subsidies to those who cannot afford health insurance. And it guarantees coverage for 96 percent of Americans, according to the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office.
AKA an attempt to fix medicaid, and make everyone pay the same (inflated) price?

That's not at all what it means. What that is saying is that they can't charge you more if you have a bad medical history.

You sound like a Fox News anchor trying to skew the facts.

Which means everyone pays the same price, and because it costs everyone the same amount, they are gonna have to charge the people that aren't paying much now a good bit more to cover those who are now insured that'd have to pay an arm and a leg.
