Default Ok, little project

Ok, well I'm really bored and my friend is giving me his car amp and sub.

Is there anyway to hook this up to my computer.

Also how would I get power to the amp, I've got an extra powersupply just chillen here. anyway to get this working?!

You'd have to hook it up to some sort of receiver that is compatible. And you'd need speakers to go with it...

Just how do you hook an amp to a wall outlet?

At the least, an AC to DC converter. The amp probably uses 12 volts, but your wall outlet is 110 or 120 volts I think.

That will not have enough power likely to power it. You need a hardcore AC to DC converter to power that amp. If it's an amp with any kind of power requirements, you need something thats worth a few hundreed.

Either way, a computer PSU wouldn't work for the same reason you said - not enough power.

UH actually you are wrong.

I got it to work.

I just can't get it hooked up to my computer.

Unless I could use a spdif out for subwoofer.

UH actually unless you have a very weak system, you're not giving the system the power it needs. It'll work, just not to it's potential.
