Offered a Geeksquad job!

As a college student, and being 18 years old, it is difficult to be taken seriously or be considered by other corporations in the field. I'm sure I could get a job at like CompUSA, but it'd probably be on the same lines as Geek-squad in that aspect.

I also have an interview tomorrow at a local WalMart, for a position in the electronics section, possibly as a supervisor (considering I have management experience, somewhat, at two previous jobs). I'll have to consider the wages and such, and then continue..

I know Walmart will pay me over minimum wage, somewhere around 14/hour.. but I heard Bestbuy pays somewhere between 15-20/hour. I'll have to get specific facts down and see what I'm going to pursue, but this is all just a temporary job and 'extra income' so to speak.

Dude if you have MCSE people have to take you seriousley, you don't need a job like that!

I used to work at Best Buy as a Business Technology Specialist. The Pay is there, You just have to prove your worth it. I was making $24 at that position. For GeekSquad, They're Cadets if they still have them, or CIA's make roughly starting out 9 bucks and cap out around $15 or $16. Now they're DA's make Bank. They are the ones that do the house calls and field work driving around in the little bug. Our DA was making $32 an Hour.

In my field, Above me, Were the BTC's, (Business Technology Consultants.) These guys deal with Small Businesses, Server Installs, Larger Networking Jobs as well as giving full on Consultations with no limits. They can make nearly $40 an hour. Again, That's close to Cap.

If your going Full Time, Best Buy also offers Full Benefits. (Stocks Plans, 401K, Paid Vacation, Sick Time, Holidays, Full Medical Benefits, Etc, Etc.)

It's a great place to work, Especially the Atmosphere and people you work with.

As for the Rumors of GeekSquad Prices, Yes, Some of them are rediculous.
