Everyone knows that in every review the hd 4830 wins.. why would nvidia promote this?

Probably because they're not using the same software to test it as the reviewers, or they have different setup's as in a different motherboard, more/less memory etc.

Could even be different settings within the games you can't really tell just from looking at the bar graphs.

Depends where you look, and the 9800GT does sometimes beat the HD 4830 in Nvidia branded games such as Far Cry 2. HD 4830 wins some, 9800GT wins some others.

And remove the Fud review, it's not doing anything for you. Add in the Anandtech one if you want.

Of course they are going to do everything in their power to make sure their card wins. Like only show you the software/games that show the Nvidia card winning, but not show you where it lacks. Thats just marketing talking. If you really want to know what card is better, read 3rd party, trusted, unbiased reviews.

Far cry 2 and Crysis are the only games that the 9800Gt does a little better on.

Arent Crysis and Far cry 2 Nvidia Optimized?

Since we first began working on Far Cry 2 in early 2005, we have used GeForce GPU’s to develop the game and worked closely with NVIDIA’s excellent engineers. While Far Cry 2 represents an outstanding PC gaming experience for a wide range of systems, GeForce users can expect to enjoy the game quite literally ‘The Way It Was Meant To Be Played

I'd say the FiringSquad and techPowerUp! reviews are trusted and unbiased.

Like worshipme said, the 9800GT does beat the 4830 in some benches, whereas the 4830 comes out ahead in others.

Exactly, never go by what the manufacturers say about their own product. They'll always make it look better.
