I'm not surprised. Jack Thompson tried to prevent Take-Two from being able to even release Grand Theft Auto IV and Manhunt 2. I think Take-Two sued him because of first-amendment rights.

It's no different then a child dressing up as the Grim Reaper or some other demonic figure, chances are they got the idea of that being "cool" from an older person or a game.

It's only crazy to you because you aren't thinking outside the box. It's no different then the thread about a guy who's parents won't let him play M rated games and he's 15. You have to think how the content being displayed will affect the entire population of gamers, because younger gamers like Mature Content and more then not, will get a hold of it some way or another.
Yeas but if a game maker makes a game and it is rated M then a parent lets their 14 year old play the game ,then the 14 year old goes and gets a gun and shoots some people , that isnt the games makers fault, it is the parents fault for letting their 14 year old play the game

same as if a child of 14 saw a dvd with an age rating of 18 that is the parents fault for letting them see the movie ,
you cant blame game companies for people under the rated age being exposed to the content because in most cases it is the parents fault for either A not being interested in what their children are playing on or watching or B just straight out buying them the games/ other content .
Its like if an under 18 year old watches porn on the internet , nobody blames the people that made the porn they blame the child or parents yet what is the difference a child is still being exposed to content that is not for their age group but politicians dont get outraged by that , or any holywood blockbuster that has loads of violence .

Yes that is true, but one reason I see the people getting mad is because the game is based in New York. Given the terrorists attacks there, I can see why people would get upset. But yes I do agree with you that a lot of the time it is the parents fault. And the companies know this, it's just a matter of figuring out a way to block that content from the younger audience from viewing it.

The only way is prosecuting parents who let their children have access to this content
I dont think a whole game should be banned because children may hav e access to it , i would just fine parents who let their children play the game

Actually you can't even fine the parents because they get to dictate if the child views and plays it or not. So i guess the only solution is to prevent the material from even hitting the shelves. There really is no winner in a debate between audience and company.

personally i dont think you should ban games just cause parents cant stop children playing them , its like then they should ban violent movies and anything else with violence in it

but like you said its a loose loose situation
