Got it when it came out, couple months.
My mom also has a Samsung, going on about 1 or 2 years now.
That thing has dropped in water, on the ground countless times, and it's been pretty abused.
But it is working just fine, so I don't know what people are saying.

Well, perhaps not ALL Samsungs.. But a lot seem to be laggy and typing seems to be cramped.

She is lucky then.
My mom has been through 5. No abuse or anything. they just broke.
My stepdad gave up at 3 and got a BB 8800.

Alright let's wait for OP and see what he needs, then we can work off that.
I think all phones can break, no matter the price all can randomly break...

True that.
I'm guessing you don't want an iphone.
HTC is pretty much the best phones IMO.
but all the ones you listed are good.

Well,The features i want in a phone:

-Wifi
-3G
-Bluetooth
-Nice Size Screen (2.8"+)
-Onscreen or hardware Qwert keyboard
-Camera

Also a nice Calendar

The omnia is now off my list because i have read that the touch screen keyboard sucks.

Most every touchscreen phone looks terrible after a while.
My VU gets scratches from being in my pocket with my wallet even with a screen protector.

I say get yourself a very nice blackberry.
The 8800 is an excellent phone.
The curve isn''t bad either.

Then you don't have a good screen protector. Try the Invisible Shield. I can't recommend the stuff enough.
