New Phone? Or No new phone?

The 2 Samsung phones I owned failed on me 2 years later. One turns itself on and off by itself, and the one I currently use doesn't get reception anymore, sometimes it freezes, and it turns itself on it off by itself (not as much as the other). But I would still buy an Samsung since I think I am the one who made it like that, my mom bought the same phone the same time, and it still works for her.

Why not a different approach?
What exactly do you need in a phone?
I'm saying why spend $600 on a phone you need only for email and texting?
If there are really any features you need tell us and that could help out.

Personally. I stay away from all samsung phones.
They always seem to break on me.
My moms SYNC wont stop rebooting because she tried to send a picture message.

It always takes a while before they break though (1-2 years)

What are you people doing to your Samsung's?
I never have a problem with mine, except when it stopped calling (T-Mobile's fault, something broke in their server or something, and no phones with 3G worked)
My phone works just fine.
