if i'm not mistaken imageready comes with CS2 correct? if it does you can make your gif in there and go to "File" and go to "Save Optimize As". i don't have CS2 anymore and CS3 i'm still learning.

found this online, hope this helps.

Step 7: Save the animation.

In Photoshop, go to File, Save For Web. Make sure gif is selected. There are control buttons on this window to see the animation as it will finally appear one last time before saving.
