My mouse just gave up on me....

Upgrade to a $10 mouse. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826105026 Have that one and it works perfectly. MS mice are usually good quality and cheap. The first optical MS mouse I had had random cursor movement though...

I actually use this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826105148 But the 2 are essentially the same other than 2 extra buttons. I have both mice, both work good.

I'm not one for wireless stuff if I can help it. I have a wireless router to my notebooks, but other than that, I use all wired. Even my desktop is wired to the network, I had to run the wire through the garage to get it there, but I don't like wireless if I can help it.

well the best thing i do for a troubled mouse.

if it's an optical mouse : check the batteries

if it's a regular mouse : try taking out the ball from it and gently cleaning it, then clean the inside chamber area where the ball sits.

next if that don't work : just un-install the driver for it in devise manager, then reboot.

when widows loads back up, it will re-install the driver for you and should fix the problem.
Or if it's a cheap mouse, it just went out and you need a new one...
Correction on the optical mouse and batteries, it only needs batteries if it's wireless.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will buy one sometime next week, might end up getting one for my B-day though. I told my mom to get one called the razer, lol, I dont think she will though.

This one just physically broke.
