I agree. If you don't have anything illegal to hide then ultimately, why worry?

Because, if you're doing something legal, but viewed by some as immoral, that evidence can be used against you in the court of public opinion.

Like, idk, political dissidents... think communism back in the 50s. it wasn't illegal, but if your employer found out, you'd never be able to get work again...

Everyone has something to hide. Period.

Something legal now could become illegal in the future. Now there's record of that activity and someone can retroactively see your wrongdoing.

I also imagine you don't want your browsing history made public...

We all have something to hide. Everyone has something they want to stay private and that ability is slowly being removed.
