Well, this does not pertain to me at all because I have a legal version of XP.. so its okay.
As far as their recent improvements in preventing the spread of warez, they have made some great movements for programmers. Programmers will begin to use some of these ideas, I'm sure to ensure that their own software is not stolen or cracked.
And so, the war will continue with people cracking software and programmers trying to prevent it.. I'm sure one day though it'll come to a stalemate.
All the same, I don't usually support Microsoft, but I'll support them on this. I know several programmers personally who are trying to get into the field professionally (and with the skill they have, they probally will), and I'm sure they'd like to recieve the money they did for their work.
For instance, cracking software to programmers is like you going to work and then when its time for your paycheck, part of it is missing because someone decided to steal it. And, then when you want that money because you rightfully worked for it, there isn't much you can do unless you trace down the person who stole it.
I know a lot of people crack software, so I'm not trying to offend anyone here.. but I'm simply trying to put it into perspective.
Not to mention, with some companies (like game producers for instance), when their software is stolen and / or cracked, I'm sure their less likely to release a sequel and / or patch because their losing money for the work they initially completed.
Just an idea to think about...
