Default Microsoft is changing their name to Micropensoft

Ok well not really. But the title got your attention. Check out this press release from big bad microsoft:

http://www.microsoft.com/presspass/p...ess%20Releases

If your too lazy to read the whole thing i'll sum it up for you. Microsoft has decided to adapt an open policy. Providing it's API's for high-volume products free of charge, and will detail patents it holds and applications that cover its protocols (to avoid nasty, Linux-like mixups, I assume), and will provide a "covenant not to sue open source developers for development or non-commercial distribution of implementations of these protocols."
*Quotes taken from engadget*

I guess microsoft realized they couldn't fight the open-software trend forever.

There are only 10 kinds of people in this world. Those who can read binary, and those who can't.

Glad to see microsoft seems to be implementing policies to release their lock on certain markets, whether it was intentional or not.

I don't think Microsoft should be forced to do anything. At the end of the day, its their product to design as they wish and if someone doesn't like it then don't use it
