Default Metal Detecting

Well, aside from computers, it's my favorite hobby. Being that the ground is frozen half the year here, computers take up the winter and spring months. But during the summer and fall, metal detecting is my thing. I love it because of all the things you can find. Just this last weekend I was using my "crap" metal detector and I pulled out a beautiful 10K man's gold ring with tons of small CZ stones. I went and traded it in at the local jewelry store for $40 bucks. Has anyone else ever really tried metal detecting seriously or just as a hobby? I'm just curious.

MetalOverlord! Buddy! How ya doooooooin?!

I had tried it with my old "gangster" Toys R' US metal detector when I was younger.
But have never tried it with something that could detect anything under three inches of sand xD
