x(2x-1)/3y-z

Let x=-4, y=3, and z=5

on my equation?

For those that are too lazy to work it out
Quote:
x(2x-1)/3y-z
Let x=-4, y=3, and z=5

= -4(2(-4)-1)/3(3)-5
= -4(-8-1)/9-5
= -4(-9)/4
= 36/4
= 9

Teny...on the computer your equation fails. You do division before subtraction so you'd divide by 9 then subtract 5. You need parenthesis...5/10.

so in computer wise, there's no such thing as algebra?
because in algebra, there is automatically parenthesis there (if there's division), and from what i have seen, the let x=x are algebraic terms.
