Well guys, how much CPU do you need?

I do fine with my 3rd gen i5.

As much as i can afford!!
My main is a ryzen 1700 and i just love how my task manager has the 16 thread graphs.

Also, I recently upgraded my spare computer from 3rd gen i3 to a 3rd gen i7 3770. Found it on ebay for $65 shipped. I was thinking about throwing a video card in there, but remembered my PSU is only 300 watts.

Lol, yeah, it's only got the 4-pin accessory power cable for the motherboard (as opposed to the 8-pin) but it works for the cpu at least. And i was able to stream my switch to twitch via obs without any issues.

I think my up to 4.3GHz overclock ready i5 3570k is good for two more years for me.


I did a mistake getting a used video card to SLI due to lack of support lately but if new games support it it could live for those two more years. That's another issue, tho.
