Locked posts

Can the mods PLEASE stop posting in locked posts? Its not fair to do that, especially when people are getting comments made about them and cant reply back. If the posts locked, then it should be locked to admin and mods aswell, otherwise you should leave it open so the members can have their say. (You all know what post im referring to):)

agreed. I have also made a thread about this some time ago.

yeah, I just did it again.

probably should have took it to PM,

apologies all.

A question was asked recently about what would attract members to stay, or what would drive them away.......

How about all this petty bloody bickering, if you mods want to continue posting in a locked thread, then take it into the staff lounge and keep it there, where no one else has to deal with it, or read it.

Its worse then a school yard this is......

damn that other thread got pretty bad lol. most of the people in there are full grown adults and they are acting like children. some people need to keep opinions to themselves and some need to alter their ways if they want respect. its becoming annoying now. we all need to chill :)

amen, We all need to calm down, Brookfield was just trying to prevent an argument and others were just wanting there opinions in, no one is at fault can we just calm down.

I'm not being funny, but how? (how was Brookfield trying to prevent argument?)
anyone can post a bunch of useless statistics but that doesn't prove anything.

Brookfields post, (now locked) was nothing short of inviting argument.

point in case: I rate this post that I'm currently writing as excellent and insightful, I should receive a half million rep points by default each and every time I touch a key...

do you see the point here, you can't rate your own posts fairly or accuratly.

by trying to rate his own posts brookfield was doing nothing short of poking a hornets nest with a stick.
-he knew that there were a lot of unhappy members, he knew that a lot of people were objecting to both his post content and attitude around here. so how was asking people to further rate his post going to prevent arguments?

fair enough, I continued that when I posted in the locked thread, but in my defense I was only trying to put across the point that had failed to be made.

the post that came after that, (by brookfield, sarcasm and all) wasn't really needed,
I guess my sarcasm in the post after that wasn't needed either.

so far as posting as a mod, in a lot of ways I wish that title weren't under my name, each and every post I make is written as a member first, there are very few exceptions to this where I feel the need to post as a mod, and remind people of the rules that they agreed to when they signed up.
if any of you can be bothered to search back through the forums you'll see that I've always spoken my mind, even to mods before I became a mod myself.

perhaps if all the mods around here posted as a member, rather than using their mod badge as some sort of claim to fame then this would be a much nicer place to hang out.

being a moderator is about housekeeping and moderating.
closing arguments, removing bad language porn etc... it's not about getting everyone to take note of you as if you were some kind of god...
someone pointed out a few days ago that the social lounge was practically over-moderated, and I'm inclined to agree... time and time again we're getting people making comments like, "you shouldn't be posting that or you'll be banned", or "if I posted what xyz mod posted I'd be in trouble"...

This place is becoming so uptight that it's getting difficult to breath!

which is a shame...

I'll do something with that thread.
(you're right my comments were unprofessional to say the least).

I'll either delete my last comment, (which I rate as unprofessional).
or delete the last two posts, (brookfields which I see as unprofessional, and mine as above).

or I'll remove the last three posts in the thread.

my bad post, brookfield pointless bad post and the post where I actually tried to explain the point that was being made by the people in that thread.
