Ok, most of them are low quality, bad commercials for law firms and used car dealerships filmed with home camcorders editted with cheap editting software. what gives? is fox really that poor?

That's the local tv station not the FOX network. Local businesses deal with advertising in a lowball sort of way. Local air time is not really all that bad as far as costs go. But the stuff they put on is of lower quaility.
Network ads can run into 100's of thousands or a mil or two just to make. Then the cost of airing them on the network is just out of this world. Remember bowl games have ads that can run to a mil a minute.

:O but whys it called fox then? and what you mean by local tv station? the channel is fox.

I think that seti means that most of the ads are local, and they are aired only close to where u live. So there is no point to spend say $300 000 on an ad that won't get that many viewers.

See, when Fox comes into your area and is provided to you by your local cable provider, it makes a stop and local tv commercials are inserted.

So any commercials you see that are for local businesses in your area were made in your area and are inserted by your local cable provider. And yeah, a lot of them are made on the cheap, just because those businesses don't have the kind of money it takes to make a professional commercial.

It's actually the local FOX affiliate station that handles all the advertising.
