alright guys, the time has come for me to do some "soft mods" to my jeep :D

first off, im changing all turn signals, backup lights and brake lights to LED bulbs...

AMBER 1157's: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1157...205006603QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item200205006603
RED 1157's: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1157...222875424QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item150222875424
WHITE 1157's: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1157...222252568QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item150222252568

and im changing my headlights to projectors, however im debating whether to get black or just standard white color, either way they will be HID so the light output will be slightly blue, but im wondering what would look best on the jeep...

BLACK: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/79-0...015QQitemZ250223166883QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW
WHITE: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/79-0...025QQitemZ380004166729QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

next up is the gauge mod, stock is black background with white lettering for MPH, RPM, etc. i want to do the opposite and add blue lighting instead of white

GAUGES: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1991...215966893QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item160215966893

here is a picture of the actual jeep that i'd be putting this stuff on, keep in mind that i am getting new lenses for the front bumper and side marker turn signals, they will be crystal clear so the LED's wont show up as being colored until they are on :)

i think the LED's are gonna look awesome as turn signals and stuff, giving it an "expensive" look like the cadi's have, give suggestions car lovers :)

eh, idk, maybe a little...

i guess we dont have many jeep people on this forum, lol

I looked into getting LED lights a little while ago for my car...

I don't know about in America, but certainly in the UK they are not street legal.

there's a shop that sells them and has that disclaimer, (something that auction does not).

most LED bulbs are for show use. unless they explicitly say otherwise I'd be inclined to check this before fitting them.

I think this is different if you have the LED bulbs fitted as standard as some new vehicles now do. but them you likely have to have speicialist bulbs from the manufacturer rather than just grab any old ones

Body Lift, less then $200. Then if you want to spend a little more, get some tires. That will look better no matter how many LEDs you stick in there. Jeeps are really meant to look classy like caddys.

Most of the jeeps I see like that are 4x4 mods (lift, big wheels and tires) not many mods like you want to do like the led's but I think they'll look good. As for the headlights, just get the regular looking ones, not the black, I don't think those would look good. I'm not sure if they make them for the XJ, but I think some of those black powdercoated side steps would look good on your jeep. They're not that hard to install either.

Don't go too overboard with it or else it'll start to look gaudy/cheesy/ricey, and you don't want that. I like those rims and I like that overall style of jeep as well.

Maybe get one of those white tire pens and touch up the letters on the tires if they are worn off a little bit, and if "Jeep" is molded into the front or rear bumper, paint that white as well, just for aesthetics.

I'm also noticing that you have a bit of rust on the bottom of the drivers door there (unless it's mud or something) and I'd suggest you take some of your modding money and get that taken care of before it gets out of hand.

Edit: just looking at the picture again, do those fender flares attach with screws? If so, get some black fender flares and replace them, that would look good to match the bumpers and trim. Thats an easy and cheap way to change the look.

I didnt even see the picture before dude, cause I was at work. But now that I look at it, LIFT IT!!! That is the perfect jeep to lift! And it's a 4x4 so def lift it. Body lift is good and cheap, but if you can go for a suspension lift. Get some Baja rims, like american racing outlaw IIs and 31 inch BFGoodrich Mud terrains!
