basically Japan has introduced a fine on companies for every employee who is fat. The new law states that every employee must have a waist size of no more than 33.5" for men and 35.5" for women.

Imagine this being introduced in the U.S. who's average waist size is 39" for men and 37" for women? Not to mention Canada could use some slimming down too.

They should totally do this in America. I'd laugh my ass off.

I'm 6 foot 2" 170 pounds and wear a 32 waist 34 length pants. Granted some pants I can fit in a 31 or in the case of my work I wear a 34-34 but there sizes are way larger than a typical jean company.

im at least a 34, but i usually wear a 36. I don't see how they would implement those...

cut off 2" and 15 lbs and you have me. Although those 32x34 are looking a little short now... I have yet to see a pair of 32x36's.

Interesting...I think it should be encouraged but not mandatory. Forcing the issue in North America would be very very difficult! Wii Fit for everyone!!!
