One of our cows tail fell off this week...never seen that happen before..

That can be pretty serious, I lived on a farm years ago, big herd 300 or so, several of them around 15, I think it was, had the same thing, the vet saved most, but 3 or 4 had to be slaughtered & burned, I hope your family got a vet in straight away, did they?
