[QUOTE=connchri]Sorry, But do you remember the point of the Vietnam war? If you did, then you'll know America came away and won and did what they wanted to. Stop the spread of Comunism - Nobody seems to respect that when it comes to Vietnam. Enough said about that war.

Well, Burton, it actually tells you the reason in my post.

Read as ' ..to "Stop the spread of Comunism"'. And as the cold war was also just round the corner, and troubles with the USSR and Cuba, you could say that hadn't the Vietnam war ever happened you could all be under Comunist rule talking Russian.

It Halted the spread of Comunism in the far east.

You guys are getting into things you have no experience in. Peopel who weren't born during the 40's can't say anythign about Viet Nam! They don't have the memories that a person who was at home had, from when watching TV and seeing people die. They weren't there in Viet Nam fighting and watching their friends die! I can not say, "Viet Nam was wrong!" When I myself was not presented with the then polotics.

Kind of how like us younger Americans have a hate towards the Taliban and Al Queda. We remember sitting down in our living rooms getting ready for school when all of a sudden all the news stations start blaring BREAKING NEWS!!! Only to then watch a plane smash into a building and watch thousands of people die. I also remember watching people jump from 60+ sotires up in the air and splat against the ground.

I'm justified by that experience alone to say that I want revenge against those that attacked me and my people for no reason. So damn all of you who call me and my country "iggnorant" or "bad" or any other word meant as an insult! I'm one angry American, and I'm sure there's a lot of angry British people here too who remember going to work only to feel their building shake because an IRA bomb went off. So you're just as much justified in your revenge as I myself am in my revenge!

I much rather help the countries that need helping, and take out those that only want to hurt, rather then strike down on a country which hasn't for the most part done anything, Iran in this case. They want nuclear technology. Ok, I say you can have it. It's your country, do what you want. But the instant you abuse that technology, then the world will come down a raining on you! The world, yes the WORLD, not just America, does not like serious harmful weapons in the wrong hands.

Well, just to clarify, I agree with your entire post. And if you look at my posts, they tend to say the same thing. I might not have any hands on experience, in this day in age, and at our age, a books all we have to go by. I marely pointed out that the Vietnam War had a point, and where America won and got it's sound victory. You don't need experience to know that. Say, does that mean you cannot comment that we won the 2nd World War? did we loose it? wheres the difference?

Let people say what they want. It is a free democrocy after all, nothing like the Comunist/Socialist USSR or China.... Thank God the US won against Veitnam.

3 Countries being England, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Wales is, strictly speaking, a pricipalitan.

If you cared to look at Britains share of the troops, you notice that there is a good deal of Scots (Black Watch, KOSB), Irish and Welsh. Not just England.

Please, get of your high horse, Hypocrit. Howmany Austrailians and Canadians e.t.c have Scots, Irish and Welsh blood in them? far more than English I think you'll find, yet all from the UK!

Spain also help, amongst others too from the commonwealth, Japan and eventually Russia politically. France, being France (Hunting with the hounds and running with the Foxes) was keen to get involved in the reconstruction, to get the building contracts.

Thank god the US told them where to go.

Oh, PS, how do you define big Country? Population of Scotland - 5 Million - Almost all it's divisions got involved in the war though. Northern Ireland about 1 Million, Wales - about 3 million. England about 50 Million.
I’m sorry, I AM conscious that the UK consists or more than one country. I was not aware though that additional countries from the UK had sent in troops. So my apologies on the behalf.

And well, the UK is a lot bigger than Australia. 50 million from England, Nth Ireland 1 million, Wales 3 million, Scotland 5 million, that totals 59 million... down here we have 19 million, so 59 million is a lot in comparison to us…

You're missing my point...

The point is that you can't say why went into Viet Nam is wrong, because we didn't have any memories of what was going on. Sure books can tell you what happened, but they can't tell you how to live through it. Does that make sense?

True, everyone should be entitled to freedom. Just because one guy think a certain way doesn't mean everyone else has to. You can think, "War is the answer!" While I can think, "Make world peace!" So, who's right? Who knows, because either could be right, it's entirly subjective.

I also think your missing my point too. I was not even claiming to state weather the war was right or wrong. He originally said there was no point to it, and there was a point to it. I pointed it out to him. And on that basis, America won it's war.

While were on this point, from your post I take it you support the War in Iraq, If so, many years from now people will look back at media archives about the Iraq War just as we do about Veitnam, and we will all see the same thing. The population protests and huge peace movements. Vietnam was quite similar to Iraq I think, when it comes to morals. Just something to think about.

I somewhat support our effort in Iraq. As of late I'm not sure who or what to trust as far as information is concerned. Because today's media, at least in America, has a way of bending and distorting the truth. I think it's more about ratings then it is about truth. But, I agree that we should have taken Saddam away, it is a well known fact that he hurt he people. So it's good to see a harmful person go away. I also agree with us tryign to help them out with maintaining a new security force, as well as training police. That's good because it keeps law, disicipline, and order maintained.

What I do not agree with is our constant involvement. We don't need that many troops there, just people to train their people. Sure we need soldiers to make an example, but for the most part why can't the others come home? I also don't agree with our motives to go into Iraq other then the WMD and Saddam terrorizing his people, it seems as though the real motive was oil. Oil, as we know, is probably the most crucial material in the world. Without it, most things won't work, unless you have a mass conversion to an alternative fuel, such as vegetable oil. I also don't think we're really focusing on anythgin there except insurgents and terrorists. It just, at least to me, seems like The War on Terror (Just in Iraq!). I honestly don't know what to make of it. But as most Americans will agree, we can't wait for Bush to be out of office. He seems to be doing more harm then good.

What America needs is a President who will focus more towards Civial Rights and peace, rather then terrorism and fighting. But don't get me wrong, I agree that we should get rid of the terrorist, as well as every other country on the planet, everyone needs to support each other. Kind of how America helped Britain out when they got attacked. Although I don't really recall them lending us a hand when we got attacked. I just find it funny how America, despite what others may think, helps out so much, yet so little return the favor. And yet those countries are saying they want peace. The world just seems to be full of controdictions. I really don't know what to make of it...
