IP address question

is it possible for me to change my ip address in some way myself or do i have to contact my service provider?

There is not a way that I know of. When my computer was not working my ISP gave me a new address.

I think with dial up it changes every time u conect, and with dsl try disconnecting your modem, then connecting it agen

Co to the command prompt and type ipconfig /release then wait, then type ipconfig /renew

You should get a new one unless you have one assigned to you (static)
