I have all the book from when my dad got his certification, and I have been studying it. The only problem is I don't know if Im wasting my time or not because im only 14.
Is there a set age that you need to be to get certified?
Is there any prerequisites?

There no minimum age. And there are no prerequisites.
The test does cost money though. So make sure you have it when you take it.

To my knowledge there is no age requirement. However, each test costs ~$160 and there are two that need to be taken for the A+. Network+ (if you are interested) is one test that costs a little over $200. (USD)

yeah, I have the book for network plus, and all of the cd guides also.
its good to know that there is no restrictions, thankyou.

I'm taking Network Preparation to get the Net+ certification, but I'm not going to take the A+. Waste of money IMO. People are getting better at computer hardware by the days, but Networking is still something obscure to most people.

Agreed. I've talked to a lot of people in businesses and most say that the A+ pretty much means nothing now and days. And some say they don't care about certificates, they mainly test you and see how your real current Knowledge and how you perform  in real situations...

But there is no requirements... There was a 16 yr old that had it...
