help with ubuntu real quick plz...

just did fresh install of the second most recent version of ubuntu. I try to connect to my router,

a box pops up

authentication required by wireless network

wireless security......WEP 40/128 Key
key......
wep index.....1 (default)
authentication open system

I put in the key and it won't connect to my router

Whereas on my laptop it asks

wireless security.....WPA WPA2
key....

I put in the key and im connected. On my desktop there is no option for WPA

resolutions?

This is an older article and probably a pretty outdated version of ubuntu. Give it a try though and see if this method will work on the newer version.

Worst case, you could always configure your router for WEP.
