Help for a new SLR camera

I will also be starting with the 18-55mm.

Still does anyone have any recommendations for a good lens?

whats your budget?? the 24-75mm or 24-105mm are great all around lenses, but they are pricey. you can look into the EFS 10-22mm its good for landscape and general use. i use this website alot to check out lenses ----> fredmiranda.com

they also got an awesome macro section which i mostly shoot.

Just want to through this out there....I don't know anything about cameras or especially lenses yet.

Low-end budget. Already spending $800-900 on the camera. Is there something that like 1 or 2 steps up from the kit lens?

Learn how to use your camera, then get lenses. You can take very good photos with kit lenses.
