Yea, it really varies. I like it most purely because it is the easiest connection (and carries digital audio, which most component video things don't) and easy = good in my American vocab.

Well getting into technicality in differences between HDMI and Component cable (R,B,G) then yes there is differences, but side by side comparison, not really like stated. U cannot really tell, because their isn't a BIG difference appearance wise to the eye.

Component RGB has never been popular. You're talking about YPbPr video signals.

I have noticed a big difference in between RGB (colors of the cable) and HDMI cables. I just had our satellite switched from SDTV and there is a big quality difference between the two cables. Even though it is only 1080i going through the HDMI cable, the picture is much cleaner on our 52' LED Samsung television than it was.
