I called a friend to ask for a lift home who brought they camera to take pictures for the police report.

On my way out from picking the bike up I saw a guy working on the wheel of his bike but didn't think anything of it.

Later on I got a call from the police who had found a suspicous bike that looked as if it had been 'made up' from parts that had been stolen and they asked me to come back and identify if the parts were mine. The bike had been parked round the back of some sheds ready for collection later today.
It was my wheel so they police cut the lock and gave me the wheel and then took the whole bike. Hopefully the theif will return to collect the bike and find it missing.
Very satisfying to atleast get something returned from the many bikes I have had stolen!
Good grief, poor you!, isn't there a toughened cable on the market, say Halford's that is long enough to entwine through both wheels, gear sprocket, saddle springs, with a really efficient padlock, [they sell the locks at my local ironmongers costing 80 to 100, or there's the internet, but it'd be worth it] then finally round the rack, failing that, get one made up at a welding engineers.

I do, I also like exerice and dislike rush hour traffic and rush hour drivers. And since there is absolute no free parking except a car park that is 6.50($12)/day parking I find the bike and train a good combination

Since when does having a bike make it your only method of transport?

Yeah they went down in quality too unfortunately.

I have a very good (and expensive) lock and chain which is probably why the rest of the bike was still there!
