Graduation Party!!! What's Proper Music?

Should I play music that I like for the party? I am more into the classic rock, and hairband stuff. But also Blink, AVA, and some other modern rock. But no Country or Rap/Hip Hop.
Should I just make a playlist on a lappy of music I like?

Country usually is no good
Hip-hop tends to do well.

Dont get too personal with the rock music, see "top music"
