Doesn't the vendor have to initiate the group buy though, or do you advertise your site saying that vendors can come and initiate group buys?

That's up to David's forum policy and how he conducts business. I've never seen it done on the latter part of what you wrote. Usually, they just come on here and post away. Like the forum I was on, they are strict about people just randomly pop up to sell things. Only certain vendors are allowed according to them. They would advertise their site at their regular prices. Then every once in awhile when they have a surge of inventory, they would come on here to make a special deal to forum members only. That's how group buys are initiated. I've also seen other forums where members know someone who sells parts and by word of mouth signs up for the forum and initiates the group buy. Again, it depends on what David want to handle this.
