Default George R.R. Martin?

Anybody here read his books? They are like science fantasy sort of genres.

I am currently reading his "A Song of Fire and Ice" series and I love it.

Anybody?

Can't say I've heard of him, or his books but I may have to go check them out.

It is like Lord of the Rings, but rated R instead of PG. Seriously, the books are really heavy stuff. It isn't like happy fantasy. Main characters die left and right. I have to say that I like it more than the HP series.
