No no, they were simply branded with there name. Like a coffee cup saying "foothead". You didn't come up with the coffee cup, just the brand foothead.

No I saw a discovery special on them. They invent some of their stuff.

I'll try to find one in an archive,
They quit doing that, but I remember it said 'invented at thnkgeek, santa rosa california'
Lots of their things were their inventions for sure though, because they started out as their April fools jokes, but created a demand, so thinkgeek got a manufacturer for them and started selling it.
The 8-bit tie and the grow your own 1-up mushroom are examples.
