If you use windows instead of linux, IIS + PHP works great instead of apache too. I have a forum (not really used) running on Server2003 w/ IIS 6.0, PHP, mySQL and PHPBB2

Oh yeah, just today I installed PHPBB3 on the server (replacing PHPBB2) from scratch.

It's a bit complex, getting PHP + IIS to work well, than PHPBB3 to play nicely with windows, and than setting up mySQL.

If you want help, feel free to hit me up on msn / aim, better sooner than later as it's fresh in my head now

I'm partial to MyBB

speaking of which I've gotta get my forums patched soon.
