The Veyron, right? Is that still the fastest street legal car in the world? Probably not...

Yep it is, at 232 mph, it's the second fastest 16 cylinder car, the first is the Cizeta Moroder V16T
Only 300 Veyron 16.4, 8 litre were built in 2006. [Wikipedia]

Ah. I remember a while back it was the fastest, but I figured something new probably came out by now.

And it's no wonder so few were produced, doesn't it cost something like $1.5 million USD?

I read somewhere that just to get it up to 250 mph though would take like 3-400 more horsepower.

Jeremy Clarkson; 810.000 [$156,330], at 200mph, [300ft a second!!] there's enough power to lift a jumbo jet off the ground, it's built by VW, just a smidgen faster than a 2.0 Passat I had!

Actually, it's 253 MPH, and it is the fastest production car currently.

Hmm...I thought they had produced a car faster than the Veyron...guess not. Or maybe it wasn't street legal.

No way it's 232MPH. The McLaren F1 went 241.3MPH. So no way it's number one in the charts with 232MPh as it's fastest speed.

EDIT: I just read another post and it's 253MPH.
