hmm...never thought of that before...question...if you dipped it in too far...say all the way under will it melt the magnetic whatnot that keeps that information?

the melting thing didnt work!!!!!!!!!
no damage to the dvd but nothing got fixed

Then you have 3 other options...
Try the car wax.
Buy the kit from a department store.
visit your local video store and the should fix it.

I'm only going to try home-made stuff since it's a really really cheap dvd, nothing i would be worried about if I ruined it.
