Fixed a RROD xbox last night
My friend and I fixed a buddies xbox that RROD'd a few months back. This is the third one my friend fixed, and the first I fixed. So far it's still working and we used it for a few hours last night to play music. Not sure if any of you guys have any broken 360s, but if you are interested, it's not hard at all.
Basically, all you need is x8 M5(12mm) screws, x32 nylon or non conductive washers, x16 steal washers, a drill, and some thermal paste. All that needs to be done is tighten the heatsinks on the CPU and GPU and put some fresh thermal paste on. From the factory, the heatsinks are held on with shitty X-clamps. Changing these to bolts helps tighten them down and keeps the xbox from overheating which is the most common RROD problem.
