I fiddled around with the settings again today and found a way better and clearer picture using these settings:

Video: Pete's DX6 D3D Driver 1.6

Resolution: 1280-1024
32 Bit Color
Texture quality: R8 G8 B8 A8
Hi Res Textures: SxSal
Use Fps limit 50 FPS
Off screen drawing: standard
Advanced blending: none
Framebuffer textures: Gfx buffer and software
Framebuffer access: Full software drawing

If anybody intends to play Final Fantasy 7 through 9, use ePSXe 1.5.2, and Pete's OpenGL 2 renderer.
