English Food Question

I've always been curious as to what exactly what constitutes the English food menu. Like what dishes is it known for? In America we have hot dogs and hamburgers, Mexico has tacos and stuff, but I've never really known what makes up the "true" English menu.

I know we have lots of English people that post so maybe they can help me out

PS I know England has all sorts of food just wondering what the native dishes are.

Basically the same as the US, hamburgers from mcdonalds.

One thing we do have is looks of take outs that only do fish and fries, the fish is cod and its covered in deep fried bater
