Digitization of paper documents

I never used paper in my business so I am not sure about removing it from your workflow.
All my paper documents from outside sources are scanned to searchable PDFs and filed and the paper is shredded.
 
mostly OCR is very good.

especially if the original material is clear and legible.

nothing will replace your need to double check what ends up being copied from paper to digital (which would still be faster than manual entry, and a step still required with manual entry anyway.)
