Question Dedicated Server Computer

I came to this forum whenever I was looking at computers to buy and I seen the one I wanted and I am now a part of the community.

Thats not the point tho, I am going to host a Private Server on my computer when I get it. The main specs are below.

8GB Ram.
750 GB Hard Drive.
2.4 Quad Core Processor.

What do you think about it?

(Private Server is a game hosted from your computer, btw)

Sounds like a cool idea.

I wish I had the money to do that. I would host the most unpopular game ever I think. Lol.

How good your specs are all depends on the game your hosting and how you have the server setup (example hi tic CS:S server vs low tic, how many slots, etc).

However home internet lines are not ideal for gameservers. Low bandwidth and IP's always change.

Dude any hosting revolves around your bandwidth, no matter what it is you're doing. I'd save your money from building this high end system and put the money into faster internet, from the sounds of it you don't need a quad core to host this single game server.
