Can you not increase the number of max connections?

Maybe you should have a limit of connections per site, if that can be done.

I'm sure when I was setting up an older version of VB there was a line in the config.php file, with something like MaxConnections=x

yea. most forums have this feature as standard now. its annoying but it works
