I'd go for the $1000 CPU! I'd install an engine, tires, maybe a few seats on that processor and use it to drive to work, whilst I do some gaming and work on my spreadsheet.

well 4GHz on air, i mean 16GHz total sounds pretty damn good to me although i'd spend less than that on a whole system

You can overclock the Q6600 for a fraction of the price to 3.6 GHz.
