The Mega drive is the Genesis, but in the UK it was called Mega Drive.

I have to agree that retro games rock! :D Sonic of course being the one I grew up with on the Megadrive, before they killed him off by making him 3D.

I don't honestly think we have the game engines to have truly brilliant 3D games as of yet. 3D games just aren't complex enough to make the games as easy to play, and more enjoyable, etc.

With a 2D game since it was all sprite based, you could have the character doing basiclaly anything, and since it was easy to manage, could get alot of realistic results.

For instance, I think Vectorman looked brilliant for its day on the Mega drive, and even now! Its a shame there making that in 3D now though which will wreck it.

I haven't played Constantine though...

I disagree, sonic is still as good, you can never kill him off ^_^, dont matter 3d or not, but have you played sonic 3d on xbox? NOW thats crap for the reason its on xbox and THAT stuffed it up! The graphics on that game(s) are HORRIBLELY are CRAP...even for a xbox =P haha!
But hell yesh Sonic rock0rz!

Yes, that was it, & I've been trying to remember another one I had, another that took cartridges, they were defunct when I bought it brand new in a red & black box, in a shop that specialised in retro consoles, any ideas?, the game I liked out of the twenty or so I bought with it was Wolfenstein, the very first, clunky but great version, cartoony characters, nipping along corridors to vital points adorned with huge flags & nazi swastikas, where you were soon killed by steel helmeted stormtroopers, if you weren't quick enough! I loved the game, played it for hours.

Sonic in SEGA GENESIS owned i dont like the new ones to boring

Is it similar to the film? I haven't even seen that!
It follows the general lines of the film, so I'm told, I haven't seen it either, I'll wait until SKY gets it.

I agree NeXus. I don't agree that the 3D sonics did any justice, and were just poorly done, and poorly storylined, etc, and not to mention, rushed.

Maybe the next generation sonic game will be better, but I think something we lost from switching from 2D to 3D was the pure speed of him, and I don't even think the Next Generation Sonic will fair better at that :(

I haven't got round to playing the Sonic on the Nintendo DS though. I've heard that goes back to the Mega drive routes alot better.

I may have to see that film.
