The ford focus is a brilliant car.. had mine for over a year with no problems at all.. very nice drive too, lots of grip and good fun around the country roads.
Daewoo's (oops sorry chevvy) are.. well.. crap.. tiny, bad to drive and uncomfortable. well, thats my experience of having a matiz as a courtesy car.

I love the new decisions Ford has been making lately. 2011 Mustang GT is another one.

looking at that, it's not going to be a simple or easy fix.
you're looking probably at new drive shafts, new seals new suspension, new bumpers, new radiator, new lights, possibly having to fix mounting points and maybe even getting the chassis in a jig and having it pulled straight. I don't know how bad the damage is, or indeed the location of components inside the car, but you may also be looking at new alternators and hoses etc...
I crashed a car before, not as bad as that, but I ended up having to buy a new front of a car, cut out the old front and weld in new metal, (not sure I know what that piece is called).
it wasn't particularly cheap, (even though I did the work myself), even then I had to straighten out parts of car body inside the engine bay... and the other bits like lights bumpers hoses etc... just made it expensive.
I guess that on my side was the fact that it was an SVA, I'd just driven off a corner, (in fact I came here and posted about it right after I'd gotten towed home)... it didn't go through the insurance, so the damage was never formally recorded. -I just fixed the car and put it back on the road and carried on driving it, (and it did pass it's MOT/safety test when that came around too).
say you fix your car, even then it's still going to have been recorded as a write off and not have as much value. probably wouldn't even have enough value to clear the finance...
and don't forget, that even if your car is a write off, it's still an asset of the insurance company, you're not going to gt a ten grand check AND the car, once you've got your check the car is theirs, if you want it back to fix it then you're going to need to buy it back off of them.
also, do you actually have the tools and facilities to fix the car?
My honest advice, is that unless you know a place where you can get really cheap parts for the car, and have the tools, facilities and expertice to fix the car, just take the money and walk away...
My other advise is don't buy the nissan cube.

I like hatch backs if I'm honest, buy I wouldn't consider a chev/daewoo hatch at all...
the whole point of a hatch back is that it's small, nippy and quite fun to drive nothing I've seen by chevoo is either nippy nor fun to drive...
they all seem to be tiny boxes that appear to be made out of old coke cans, with a weak and pathetic engine that takes half a minute to get up to a decent 60mph driving speed.
