I've done that, it works great and cleans the hats good without destroying them.

Hmm.....I'd like to know some good ways to break in a hat too....without getting it wet or dirty. I have a few hats that I still don't have broken in.

I want to brake it in cause its got that real stiff new hat feel. Plus I like how my older hats conform to my head, (especially the fitted hats that stretch a little such as this one). But this can take years to get it perfect. I want to speed it up.

I usually find sweating in a hat conforms it to my head, but I don't feel like running a marathon :-P
